West Coast Conference adds StatBroadcast Mobile to its 2011 Basketball Tournaments
SAN BRUNO, CALIF. -- The West Coast Conference has engaged StatBroadcast to provide its StatBroadcast Mobile application at its 2011 mens' and womens' basketball tournaments in Las Vegas this March, announced company president Nate Policar today. The eight-team conference, based out of San Bruno, Calif., will for the first time offer its fans in attendance at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., March 4 - 7, 2011, the ability to view a live stats feed of the action on the court via their mobile phones and devices.
"We're pleased to be announcing this partnership with the West Coast Conference," said Policar. "Not having the benefit of some of the newer scoreboard systems being found in more arenas across the country, our mobile technology will allow WCC fans to be more immersed in the conference championship than ever before, as they cheer on their team."
The 2011 Zappos.com West Coast Conference Basketball Championships are expected to draw a capacity crowd for all 14 of the tournament games to be held at the 8,000 seat Orleans Arena. The WCC was established in 1952 and its membership will expand to nine teams starting with the 2011-2012 academic year. Current conference members Gonzaga and USF are currently StatBroadcast partner institutions as well.
